Many work environments pose a health risk to your employees due to toxic and non-toxic dusts in the air they breathe. FFP masks protect against the inhalation of hazardous particles that can cause long-term and serious illness. There are three classes of protection: FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3. FFP1 masks protect the wearer from non-toxic and non-fibrogenic1 dusts. Inhalation of these dusts will not cause serious illness but will irritate the respiratory tract. FFP2 masks protect the wearer from harmful dusts, fumes and aerosols in both solid and liquid form. These particles can be fibrogenic, causing short-term respiratory irritation and long-term weakening of lung tissue. FFP3 masks protect the wearer from toxic and harmful dusts, fumes and aerosols.
